Introduction to the Phase II Renovation Project of Shanghai Lingang Sewage Treatment Plant:

The current processing capacity of Lingang Sewage Treatment Plant is 80,000 m³/day, with an additional 60,000 m³/day under construction. The second phase expansion project aims to increase the capacity by another 60,000 m³/day, bringing the total processing capacity to 200,000 m³/day, meeting Grade A standards for effluent discharge. The key focus of this expansion project is to seamlessly integrate with the existing, under-construction, and future phases of the project. The overall design scheme follows the principles of unified planning and phased implementation. After multiple scheme comparisons, the project has adopted the main treatment process of “AAO process + high-efficiency sedimentation tank + denitrification deep-bed filter + high-efficiency fiber filter.” Upon entering the treatment plant, industrial wastewater collected from enterprises and domestic wastewater generated by residents undergo sequential treatment processes including biological reaction tanks, secondary sedimentation tanks, high-efficiency sedimentation tanks, denitrification deep-bed filters, and high-efficiency fiber filters, ultimately meeting the standards for discharge or recycling. A portion of the treated water will be reused as reclaimed water, while the rest will be discharged into Hangzhou Bay. The design not only considers the integration with the current facilities and the layout but also reserves adequate space and capacity for future expansions and the development of the Lingang New Area, reflecting a design philosophy of adapting to local conditions and systematic thinking.
