Sinopec Qingdao Refinery and Petrochemical Co., Ltd. is a large petrochemical enterprise established through investment from China Petrochemical Corporation, Shandong International Trust Co., Ltd., and Qingdao Guoxin Industry Co., Ltd. in the ratio of 85:10:5, registered on October 18, 2004.
The first-phase 10-million-ton/year refining project of Qingdao Refinery is the first single-series 10-million-ton-level refining project approved for construction in China. It is a significant strategic project for China Petrochemical to adjust the layout of the domestic refining and chemical industry and to build a refining and chemical industry cluster around the Bohai Sea. Located in the heavy chemical industrial park of Qingdao Economic and Technological Development Zone, Qingdao Refinery has superior location, comprehensive supporting facilities, and convenient transportation. The process route adopts the “coking + CFB boiler + catalytic” scheme, with a designed processing capacity of 10 million tons/year of imported crude oil. It has 16 sets of process production units and corresponding public works and auxiliary facilities, covering an area of 220 hectares, with a total investment of 12.5 billion yuan. The annual output includes 7.08 million tons of gasoline, diesel, and kerosene, and 2.03 million tons of liquefied gas, polypropylene, benzene, mixed benzene, and other chemical products.
The Qingdao Refinery Project is planned and constructed according to the principles of “large-scale, serialization, intensification, and informatization,” featuring economies of scale, advanced technology, leading environmental protection, scientific management, and significant benefits. The Qingdao Refinery Project was officially completed and put into operation on June 16, 2008. In 2009, Qingdao Refinery, driven by the practice of learning and implementing the scientific outlook on development, aimed to build an internationally first-class refining and chemical enterprise. Adhering to the work policy of “consolidating management foundation, vigorously reducing costs and increasing efficiency, and striving to be a leader in domestic refining enterprises,” it focused on safety production, cost reduction, efficiency improvement, strengthening basic work, and team building, achieving a good start in all aspects of work.
Throughout the year, it processed 9.47 million tons of crude oil, making important contributions to the national economy and social development.
